Food at the Festival: Eat Street at our Food Village

2 July, 2014

Delight your taste buds on Eat Street at the Food Village at Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular! Bringing you culinary delights from Ireland and around the world, including Thailand, India, and Spain, there will be something for everyone on Eat Street!

Savour delicious dishes made by passionate people in the spectacular surrounds of Dublin’s Merrion Square and Cork’s Fitzgerald Park. There will be a lineup of over thirty vendors, serving everything from Thai noodles and Indian curries, to German bratwurst, pulled pork, chicken wings, paella, and artisan pizzas, as well as more traditional offerings like burgers and fish and chips.

If tasty treats are more your thing there will also be handmade fudge, chocolate fountains, filled crêpes and, of course, because it wouldn't be an Irish summer without one, the all-important 99 (with a flake!)

The hardest thing will be deciding which of our Eat Street stalls to visit first!

Whether you’re in the mood for a little something sweet, or some more substantial eats, here is a taster of what our Food Village has to offer…

Man of Aran Fudge

Fudge made by Man of Aran Fudge

Thanks to a secret family recipe, plenty of experimentation and lots of help from willing taste-testers, Man of Aran Fudge boasts an impressive array of over twenty flavours of creamy butter fudge, from their traditional Tiger Butter fudge, to the more unusual Christmas Pudding flavour.

Dave’s Pizzas

Dave’s Pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired over, which flash bakes the hand-kneaded sourdough in just sixty seconds. This locks in flavour and results in a beautifully unique tasting base, which is then topped with artisan ingredients like chorizo, olives and green grapes.

Kerala Kitchen

Inspired by their travels in India, Kerala Kitchen serves up authentic Indian street food, cooked on-site with their own blend of home-ground spices, fresh herbs, and absolutely nothing nasty.
