Free Festivals in Dublin and Cork this July

Ireland's Most-Loved Free Festival comes to Dublin in 2 weeks

28 June, 2014

The bands are booked, the performers are packing, and the countdown is on for Laya Healthcare's City Spectacular which comes to Merrion Square, Dublin on July 11th - 13th and Fitzgerald Park, Cork on July 19th and 20th.

Our posters are up, radio ads on air, flyers in places and pockets around the city. We are gearing up to transform Dublin and Cork's most beautiful parks into spectacular free festivals. The plush fake grass is ready to roll out onto the roads around Merrion Square, the picnic tables and picket fencing prepped, and the lovely Sinead and Deirdre of Hunt&Gather getting everything ready to transform the parks into magical, bright and fun backdrops for all the festivities.

Ireland’s most-loved FREE festivals come to Dublin’s Merrion Square (July 11th – 13th) and Cork’s Fitzgerald Park (July 19th & 20th), and this year's programme is the fullest, funnest and freest yet! In addition to the back-flipping sword swallowers (yeap...you read that one right), this year’s Dublin festival includes live music on the festival’s first ever ‘Go Metro Music Stage’. You can bop to the Destiny’s Child’s Survivor and Blackstreet’s No Diggity with urban brass band Booka Brass Band, bounce to the beats of Bristol's Mr.Woodnote and Lil Rhys ft.Eva and soak up the summer sun to harmonies of The Young Folk. And you know what the best bit is? You can enjoy these bands, and 10 more, for FREE, right in the heart of Dublin City, and slap bang in the middle of summer!

The park will be packed with stuff for wee ones to wallow in also including a petting zoo, Laya Healthcare's Family Area, and the legendary Kid's Court. Following his water balloon world record triumph last year, Today FM's Ray D'Arcy is back with us but this time wig and robe clad as he takes the role of Judge and will be trying, sentencing and punishing parents at the Kid's Court in Merrion Square on July 12th, with Comedian Steve Cummins king of the Court on July 13th in Dublin and in Cork on July 19th and 20th.

Over 300,000 of you joined us last year, we hope you can pop by again and say hello!
