Kids Court Alert: It’s important to keep the kids sweet this Easter... as there’s always payback in the Summer!

15 April, 2017

This is a friendly reminder for all the parents out there, once again Laya Healthcare's City Spectacular heralds the return of the ever-popular Kids' Court to the family-loving festival, and this time it's messier, meaner, and more mischievous than ever!

As most of us know by now, Kid’s Court is the place where children rule the turf and parents fear the day they said ‘no’ to their kids. As written in the 'by laws' of Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular for the children by the children, Kids Court was developed to not only create order in the Greatest Place on Earth, but to set a balance where children can sentence and punish parents for their ‘crimes’ of parenting throughout the day, the week or year!

With Easter in sight and sugar levels down due to lent, it’s important to take caution and keep the kids sweet...there’s always payback in the Summer! Parents please take note of some of the punishable offences of Kids Court 2016:

Coming in at top place as last year’s most punishable offence was *drum roll please*....Denying your child of excess sweets, chocolate or anything sugary. Controlling that sugar intake is a big no no! This saw plenty of unsuspecting mammies sentenced with the punishment of a custard- pie in the face. Some would call this a sweet sweet victory!

In second place as most punishable offence was telling your child to clean their room. We all know cleaning isn’t fun and subjecting children to such tasks is…(in their words) unthinkable! Inspired by King Henry VIII, this offence saw parents sentenced to the water guillotine. Nothing like a bucket of  ice-cold water dunked over your head to make you think twice!

I think it’s safe to say you get the picture, Happy Easter!

Kids Court returns messier, meaner, and more mischievous than ever July 8th and 9th in Merrion Square, Dublin 2 and July 15th and 16th in Fitzgerald Park, Cork!
