Meet our Street Performers: This is Aerial Manx

2 July, 2014

Record-breaking Aerial Manx is adept at an astonishing number of incredible feats: sword-swallowing, fire juggling, acrobatics and more - often at the same time!

Once dubbed "too hardcore for the Guinness Book of Records", Aerial Manx is the first ever performance artist ever to combine sword swallowing and acrobatics.

In the past five years Manx has circled the globe three times performing in street theatre festivals and venues, showcasing his contortion, contact juggling and extreme mind over matter skills.

Aerial Manx's performance, which includes death-defying feats like his combined backflip and sword-swallow, is guaranteed to have your heart in your mouth.

He recently won the People’s Choice Award at the 2014 International Auckland Buskers Festival, which like Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular is one of the most important street performance festivals in the world.

Aerial Manx currently holds twelve world records, including Longest Handstand on Broken Glass while Swallowing a Sword, Longest Chinese Pole Suicide Drop with Sword Swallowed, and Most Consecutive Catches of a Juggled Chainsaw with Sword in Throat.

He's also the Guinness World Record Holder for the world's first handstand while swallowing a 2000 volt neon tube and the most backflips while swallowing a sword!

As well as swallowing insanely dangerous objects, Aerial Manx's skills also include crystal manipulation, contact juggling, and contortion. He began his career eating fire in nightclubs across Melbourne at the age of 18.

You can see Aerial Manx on Merrion Square in Merrion Square Dublin on the 11th, 12th and 13th of July and Fitzgerald Park Cork on the 19th and 20th.
