Top 10 Things For Kids

We have crammed in so much fun and activities for this year's City Spectacular festival that we went ahead and made you some top 10 lists to ease your mind when deciding exactly what to do! Here's one for the kids..

        1. SuperTroopers

If you want to get involved in A GIGANTIC real life 'Angry Birds' game or indulge in some free face painting, LEGO, play-doh, board-games and arts & crafts, then join us at our Super Troopers area in Merrion Square this July. We'll also be showcasing the winning games from the Super Troopers 'Get in the Game' competition and getting active with skipping ropes, hula hoops, mini-trampolines and many more fun active games! 

        2. Happy Yoga

For the little ones and their grown ups. This is where yoga meets disco! Guru Dudu takes you on a hilarious journey of fun postures with ridiculous names and will leave you smiling from ear to ear. Belly laughs, high kicks and some groovy disco tunes thrown in, Guru Dudu's classes are suitable for all levels and a great way for parents and grown ups to be active with their kids. 

July 11th & 12th @ 1pm, 3pm, 5pm - Super Troopers area. See you all there!

        3. Fit Kidz

Fit Kidz classes are a mix of fun, energetic, family-based routines that will put children at the heart of the action. The classes will incorporate SuperTrooper exercises, the fitness programme initiated by Laya Healthcare that focuses on increasing kid's levels of physical activity while having FUN! SuperTroopers has been ran across 300 primary schools nationally. 

July 11th & 12th 12pm, 2pm, 4pm - See you all there!

        4. The Ark

The Ark will host FREE workshops for children of all ages. Channel your inner Charlie Chaplin and become a master in Slapstick, or turn that baseball cap around and join their funky rapping workshops. Visit the beautiful storytelling yurt and let you imagination wander. This will be taking place all weekend in the ESB Spark Your Imagination area so you can't possibly miss out! 

        5. Learn It Lego

Learn it Workshops are designed to inspire and develop the skills of tomorrow’s engineers. Our workshops are engaging, fun and most of all educational with children taking time to discuss, plan, design and develop their projects. Their imaginations will run wild, with enough LEGO at each camp to create 10+ft tall skyscrapers, real LEGO chairs strong enough for children to sit on and much more. They will be taking place July 11th & 12th 12, 2, 4, 6pm in the ESB Spark Your Imagination area.

        6. Doktor Kaboom

Grab your lab coats kids, because mad German scientist Doktor Kaboom is coming to the 'ESB Spark Your Imagination' area. Mixing safety goggles with giggles, Doktor Kaboom will excite, educate and entertain kids of all ages. He'll be looking for super kid scientists to assist him in his zany experiments, so make sure to come visit. Get ready to get psyched about science! KABOOM! Doktor Kaboom believes every child is intelligent, creative and valuable and so do we! So if you want to catch this mad scientist and get the kids involved in something a little bit different, join us in the ESB Spark Your Imagination area July 10th, 11th & 12th @ 1pm, 3pm & 5pm.

        7. Trampoline Mission 3

Performing for the first time ever in Ireland, watch this Belgian trio spring, somersault and sail through the sky as super heroes. Cirqu’lation Locale add acrobatics, juggling and a dance-inducing soundtrack to a MASSIVE trampoline to put on a street spectacle like one you have never seen before. Bring all the family on July 11th & July 12th @ 1pm, 3pm & 5pm.
 

        8. Petting Farm

Laya Healthcare's Family Area has loads of fun and some furry friends for all the family to enjoy! Bring a sheep for a stroll, pet a pig and become friends with all the farmyard animals. With our white picket fencing, plush grass, bales of hay - you'll never want to go home. 
 

        9. Kid's Court

Calling all children! If you want to get your parents back, Kid's Court returns this year messier, meaner and more mischievous than ever. The Judge will be trying, sentencing and punishing parents at the Kid's Court.This is where the kids rule the turf! This kid's courtroom will be kicking off July 11th & 12th @ 12pm, 2pm, 4pm & 6pm. 
 

        10. Silent Disco Tours

Guru Dudu takes the Silent Disco phenomenon to a whole new level with his Silent Disco Walking Tours. Everyone wears headphones (supplied) and can hear the commentary from Guru Dudu and the dance-mix of uplifting faves from the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s. It’s all about spontaneous Flash Mob dancing, interpretative dancing around local landmarks, hilarious comentary and lots of crazy impro that is guaranteed to open the ‘laughter meridians’. Below is where the adventure is set to take place:

Dublin City Centre, meeting point is Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street.
