The Music Stage at City Spectacular

Vote for the top 3 bands in our Breakthrough Bandtacular

5 July, 2014

We've told you about our search for Ireland’s best unsigned musical talent taking to the stage at this year’s Festival to play alongside the likes of The Young Folk, Gypsy Rebel Rabble and Oki’s Wagon in Merrion Square.

The three finalists have been chosen by and now you can vote for them on the Metro Herald Facebook page.

Hailing from Naas, Co Kildare, the quartet strike a choice balance between Emma’s (the lead songstress) soothing melodies and the bands low bass and battling percussion. Become willingly immersed in them, they’re a band to sway dreamily and then energetically to.

The Yips

The Yips are an alternative rock ensemble made up of Roisin Doyle (vocals), Steven McCann (guitar), Jonathan Bogle (bass) and Bev King (drums). Brilliantly led from the front by the striking vocals of Doyle, The Yips are not what you might envisage but surpass every expectation musically. A band to bop to.

Rudy TrixX

No strangers to a big performance, the lads from Rudy Trixx have previously brought their indie spliced sentiments to Body & Soul and Electric Picnic. By all accounts a rocking guitar band, Callan Qualtar (vocals), Sean Leonard (guitar), Johnny McGuiness (bass), Sean McManamon (guitar) and Emmet Harigan (drums) aren’t afraid to cut to the core acoustically. A band to get you on your feet.
